Description
A Fortune 200 automotive parts manufacturer, wanted to
implement an energy purchasing cost reduction initiative
in a
highly decentralized, 100+ facility environment. They
were unfamiliar with the breadth of companies and variety
of deal structures available as an outsourced energy purchasing
solution.
Sieben’s Role
Sieben was retained to advise senior management on energy
management issues, develop a commodity management strategy,
and assist in structuring an optimal long-term commodity
management solution. |

Results
Sieben’s strategy and solicitation of proposals
resulted in a rigorous evaluation of alternatives
that was acceptable to both senior management and
field plant managers. The intent was to select a
company that best fit project goals and client culture.
The selected energy commodity management solution
reduced energy costs by 2%, resulting in a $2 million
annual savings to the client. |
