Green Buildings

Design, construct, and operate sustainably

Our Green Buildings service-line is about supporting project and design teams in modeling, building, and operating buildings to meet clients’ sustainability goals anywhere in the country.

Sieben Energy Associates is an expert in LEED, or Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, from the United States Green Building Council. We have helped clients achieve over 100 LEED certifications in various locations nationwide.

Green buildings are becoming the norm in new construction. LEED New Construction, or certification for a new construction project through the LEED program, delivers both additional value and prestige. SEA employs an integrated building approach to produce efficient and fully-idealized programs within budget and timeframe. SEA's LEED APs have extensive experience with all aspects of LEED project management. SEA assists construction teams in understanding the LEED program requirements and other energy or sustainability project requirements, working directly with the architect, owner, and/or other consultants to establish project expectations and achieve certification goals.

A green building is intended to have less impact on the environment, but how a building operates really determines if it is sustainable. Sustainability aims to make the least impact possible on the environment in order to minimize or eliminate negative effects on future generations. LEED Existing Buildings, commonly referred to as LEED for Existing Buildings: Operations & Maintenance ("LEED EBOM" or "LEED EB") establishes uniform standards for existing buildings that focus on environmentally-friendly operations and maintenance. SEA designs a custom approach to achieve your desired level of LEED certification. Our responsibility is to guide the LEED project team through the certification process with hands-on project management, customized tools, regularly scheduled project meetings or calls, and broad expertise regarding sustainable practices that meet LEED requirements.

Energy Modeling is an innovative look at building energy consumption, useful in optimizing design and quantifying potential energy savings. SEA is skilled in offering several types of energy modeling for specific applications, including energy modeling for LEED, Utility Analysis, and DOE 2 and eQuest Analysis.
