Retro-Commissioning Incentive Program
Retro-commissioning is a great way for large facilities to reduce operating expenses. The aim of this service is to optimize energy systems through in-depth analysis (controls, HVAC, and more), development of custom energy-saving measures, and testing and verification of implemented measures.
ComEd is funding a special incentive program for businesses or buildings in the ComEd service territory of northern Illinois. Customers who consume at least eight million kWh of electricity annual may qualify for full funding of the engineering fees associated with the retro-commissioning process. Sieben Energy Associates (SEA) has been specially selected and approved by ComEd as a Service Provider for this program.
This program is part of ComEd's Smart Ideas for Your Business initiative, which seeks to demonstrate and promote the value of efficient building operations to a company's bottom line. Retro-commissioning is a practical way to reduce energy waste and lower electricity costs significantly in buildings of all types. Our comprehensive energy assessments and recommendations, valued at over $50,000 per site, are provided at no cost to accepted program applicants. Program participants are responsible only for the cost of implementing measures. These nominal measure costs are typically recovered in a single year. The energy savings last much longer.
