CHICAGO, IL – Craig Sieben, president of Sieben Energy Associates—a Chicago-based energy and sustainability services firm—was recently selected to serve as the incoming president of the Leadership Greater Chicago (LGC) Board of Directors. Sieben first joined LGC as a Fellow in the Class of 1999.
LGC is a nonprofit fellowship organization founded in 1983 by a diverse group of Chicago leaders. The LGC Fellows Program inducts annual classes of talented men and women selected from among emerging leaders in the business, nonprofit, and government sectors. According to the LGC website, their mission is to "create lifelong partnerships and develop community awareness among Chicago leaders in the Chicago metropolitan area."
Through the program, individuals share their unique perspectives with one another and engage with other local, national, and international leaders as they examine key challenges facing the Chicago region. The Leadership Fellows Association—a remarkable community of Fellows who have completed their initial Fellowship year—has hundreds of members in leadership positions across the country.
LGC Fellows address issues such as education, housing, healthcare, race relations, and community awareness. One of the most critical challenges facing the area’s current leadership is enhancing the Chicago region’s environmental awareness and sustainability efforts. In these areas, Sieben brings a wealth of practical knowledge and business acumen to the LGC presidency. With more than two decades of experience in professional energy management, Sieben is a well-respected energy efficiency expert.
LGC Executive Director David DeCoursey noted Sieben’s enthusiasm for the organization and extensive associations within the LGC network: "Craig follows in the footsteps of many outstanding civic leaders who have served as President of LGC. He brings passion, energy, and commitment to the work. He also has greater connections with our many alums than any previous President."
Sieben is excited to serve as incoming President of LGC and recognizes the importance that LGC plays in the city and suburbs. A native of the Chicago area, he is dedicated to the region’s green initiatives, as well as to community and leadership development.
